Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad was elected unopposed as president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) after his opponent Shanth Kumar's application was declared invalid during the scrutiny of nominations on Monday.
It has now emerged that the BCCI top post could go to Mithun Manhas, who was also involved as director of cricket operations with the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
Venkatesh Prasad-led panel raised its claims of refusal of candidacy, saying the KSCA managing committee invoked the nine-year clause in the association by-law when it was not applicable to a few members of the incumbent officials.
